This is because of the nature and responsibility of their role of the Parish Pastoral Council and its members. For “The Church exists for a solitary goal, and that is to carry forward the work of Christ under the lead of the befriending Spirit” [Vatican II, Church in the Modern World, 3]. Hence Parish Pastoral Councillors will constantly be coming to know Christ more – and this is what we do in prayer.
The spirituality of Councillors, their ability to be inspired by reflection on the Gospels, and their active prayer life that is personal and communal, underpin their ministry as members of the Parish Pastoral Council.
This is part of the overall and continuing faith development of all the Baptised within the local Church.
